I have an NEC V33A microprocessor, and I would like to have the electrical datasheets for it. I have already tried all the datasheet engines, and I was only able to get a "Microprocessor Selection Guide", and the "Instruction Manual". Sadly, the instruction manual only contains programming information. It makes reference to a seperate document called the "Hardware Manual" for electrical data, but it's nowhere to be found. It seems to me that it is not easy to get the datasheets for the NEC V series of CPUs.

See if you can pull this up:
http://patimg2.uspto.gov/.piw?Docid=05396599&homeurl=http%3A%2F%2Fpatft.uspto.gov%2Fnetacgi%2Fn ph-Parser%3FSect1%3DPTO2%2526Sect2%3DHITOFF%2526p%3D1 %2526u%3D%25252Fnetahtml%25252FPTO%25252Fsearch-bool.html%2526r%3D8%2526f%3DG%2526l%3D50%2526co1%3 DAND%2526d%3DPTXT%2526s1%3D5396599%2526OS%3D539659 9%2526RS%3D5396599&PageNum=&Rtype=&SectionNum=&idkey=NONE&Input=View+first+page

I can;t pull up the .TIFF images, I dunno if they're broke, my viewers broke, or what.

That patent supposedly has a pinout for the V33 - mebbe it's close enough?

I'm using IE6, and I can't see the TIFF images either.

The V33 pinouts should be the same (assuming the same package type). I have the PLCC 68-pin version.

How to get at the images:

1. Bring up the source of the page.
2. Search for the keyword TIF, and you find this line (on the first page at least):

<embed src="/.DImg?Docid=US005396599&PageNum=1&IDKey=6FE89CA0D45B
&ImgFormat=tif" width="570" height="840" type=image/tiff></embed>

3. Now cut out the '/.DImg?Docid=US005396599&PageNum=1&IDKey=6FE89CA0D45B&ImgFormat=tif' bit, and add it to the site DNS name in the address bar:

et viola! You should get the TIF image appear on your screen.

Page 2 can be found with:

...and I'm assuming you can work out the rest.

Hope that helps.

I scanned through all the pages, and around page 10 or so there is a schematic diagram of the V33 (aka uPD70136). Unfortunately a schmematic diagram doesn't really help too much because it doesn't list any pin numbers or locations on the physical chip.

But, I still really appreciate the help.

I just wanted to say that I found the datasheet for the V33A. I had to use a Chinese search engine (baidu) to get it though.

dump it to chipdb.org, so they can put it up...
Mebbe even harte or Al Kossow, too...
