Sadly this is a genre that seems to be dead and buried these days, but there are so many classics that are still enjoyable to play.

I had a quick look, but couldn't find any threads with links to playable online adventure games, so I thought I'd start one, for those of us who would like to enjoy some adventure gaming.

http://www.rinkworks.com/adventure <- stumbled across this while laughing at the computer stupidities on the same site, hours of fun to be had here!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/game_nolan.shtml <- a modern version of the Infocom Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy game!

If you've got more links, please feel free to post them up in this thread and share them with others who may enjoy some old school adventure gaming!

I love old-style adventure games as some of my earlier postings indicate!

Sadly, what I lack now is the TIME needed to devote to them. I did enjoy my Trinty quest a few months ago though.

While I'm not sure I'd consider it vintage, there are still MUDs around, or telnet/ssh BBSes you can play some games on. Usurper was one of my favorites on the BBS. Lots of people loved L.O.R.D (Legend Of the Red Dragon) which had tons of addons including the chance of having kids, etc (some by choice, some by using your money in illegal fashion).

Not vintage but I know a guy who's really deep into a game called "Fallen Sword" which is html based but plays like a MUD or SSI style with mostly pictures to see what you're looking at but other than that it has a certain number of moves per day, etc to keep you from never leaving the house. I haven't played it but from what he described it sounds like a fun new version of the BBS door scene.
