DONALD A. MASLIN

Nov. 2, 1927-Aug. 28, 2004

Donald A. Maslin, 76, of La Jolla died Aug. 28. He was born in New
Haven, Conn., and was a combat systems department head for the
Navy. He served in the Coast Guard and was a member of the San Diego
Computer Society.

For those of you who might not know who Don was, Don maintained a tremendous collection of (primarily) CP/M disk images that he provided to one and all either free via email, or at cost if mailing a physical disk.

He will be sorely missed.

Curtis

Thanks for updating the group on Don's passing.

I recognized the name, and sure enough Don helped me revive an old Kaypro last summer. I still have the e-mail thread in my sent folder.

He provided a great service - hopefully his service inspires us to keep alive the computer history (software, hardware, and documentation) by posting the things we simply can't get anymore to the internet.

There have been a couple of people who regularly post in the comp.os.cpm group who have contacted Don's widow and will be making arrangements, at an appropriate time, to sort through Don's collection of images and make them all available.

However, it's been put out for people to be patient. Obviously, Mrs. Maslin will need some time.
