Snagged a Magnavox monitor for free the other day with some commodore drives (1541 and a 1571) and was wondering if the digital RGB was the same as CGA. It has analog in (VCR input) using coax, TTL RGB, and unfortunatly the analog RGB knockout is still in meaning I can't use it with an Amiga. The round plug ends with a 9 pin CGA looking plug that is what a C128 uses for 80 column output.

Just making sure it will do CGA before I fry it.

You won't fry it. At worst, it won't sync. This isn't a mono display (which can be friend by the wrong sync signals).

Tested it out on my Tandy 1000HX, monitor (with small adjustments to screen size) works 100%. Too bad I found out a few of the keys on the HX keyboard do not seem to work.

It will probably end up on my Kaypro XT with CGA, saved me a bunch of effort and money looking for another CGA monitor. Too bad the drop down door is gone.

CGA and the 80-column RGB output of a Commodore 128 are both digital (TTL) RGB and are compatible with each other. The Amiga also supports digital RGB, although you only get a maximum of 16 colors on the screen.
