Im waiting for the games I bought off eBay, and the adapter for the pc to show up. So I was wondering if anyone knows a site with a bunch of basic games that are typed out line by line so I can type them into my C64 and then save them to disk so I could play them.

The VICE emulator comes with a command line tool called petcat. It lets you take a PRG file of a Basic program and convert to ASCII. From there on, you could print the listing and type it in by hand, if you're really short of other ways to transfer software.

As for sites with Basic games, I don't know. Zimmers FTP (http://zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/c64/) has some PD stuff, but perhaps not so many outspoken Basic games. The supply is greater in the PET and VIC sections, much due to those machines don't have the same coverage as the C64 has elsewhere.

Check out "BASIC Computer Games (http://www.atariarchives.org/basicgames/)" and "More BASIC Computer Games (http://www.atariarchives.org/morebasicgames/)".

These books pre-date the C64 by a few years, so you may need to tweak the games to get them to work.
But isn't that half the fun?

If you're not adverse to bittorrent then if you do a little Google searching you'll come across a torrent of all the Compute's Gazette issues.
(I'm not putting in the link - because I'm not sure if that's kosher on here)
