Hi everyone,

I'm trying to recover some old mainboard, so I found an Acer V65X and I have some trouble.

According to this site http://stason.org/TULARC/pc/motherboards/A/ACER-INC-Pentium-II-V65X.html this mainboard supports pII 233/266/300MHz.

I have only a pII 350Mhz to make some test, I installed it into the mainboard and it seems to be dead. I tried also a diagnostic PCI card, and there is absolutely no POST. It seems that +3.3v is missing, too.

Questions are:

1) Do you think that I may test this mobo using my pII 350mhz?
2) is +3.3v necessary in AT powered mainboard?
3) all capacitors in mainboard seems to be ok, no overheat, no smoke, no dust, everything looks ok... what else can I check? some suggestion?

Thank you in advance for your help and, as usual, sorry for poor english :p

I believe you need a 3.3 volt "power good" signal to start up the motherboard. Make sure you make proper connections to the soft power on with a momentary contact switch.
