Laptop is a Texas Instruments TravelMate 4000E, 486 WinDX4/75MHz.

Uses a 3 pin round connector for the power.

I have it running off a power supply connected to the two battery terminals in the battery compartment, but it goes into standby every two minutes (as it thinks it's running off battery).

So I either need a power supply for it or the pinout of the power connector.

Anyone?

Disable the power saving mode in the BIOS.

Are all three pins the same, or is one smaller? Are they equidistant, or is one offset? Do you know the power requirements? Pix would help.

One pin is smaller than the two.

Can't get into the BIOS... there is "Set Up" on the ESC key in blue (for the FN key) but it seems to do nothing at POST or at the C: prompt.

Here's a pic of the jack:

It's the hardware doing the standby not the software?

Key not working? Do the ESC and FN keys work for other functions?

It's a hardware standby.

Both the ESC and FN do work otherwise, yes.

Terry, you asked if one was smaller; do you think I don't need that one? If so, I have a 50/50 shot of hooking the power up right to the two larger holes! haha

How do you set that power supply up, and did you ever find the pinout for the external plug? I just acquired a laptop of this kind untested and without a power cord.
