I just recieved a Megafile 60 from a friend of mine and was wondering:
1. do I need any special software to use it with my 1040 STFM
2. can I copy original ST disks over to the HD and play games from there?
3. is it possible to connect an ST to a PC and how?

Cheers!

Hi Saint...

You'll need an ASCI 15 pin cable to connect from the ST to the IN port on the Megafile, the controller smart terminates and smart assigns a drive # to the drive so it is plug an play.

If the Megafile already formatted? If not, you'll need AHDI.PRG to prep the disk and install the boot files onto the disk. if its already formatted, then just play and play, you can setup you your 16mb partitions and start saving stuff into them.

As for PC use, sorry, no the Atari HD's have a unique format and cannot be PC read unlike floppies that can be formatted on a PC and read on both ST and PC, if you have TOS 3.x you can format disks on the ST and they will read on the PC's as well, earlier TOS only worked one way.
