So this is a tiny bit misleading but it does have some little competitions going on through the month or two this summer (7/3, 7/17, 7/31, 8/14, 8/28) at the local Game Over video store off of Lamar and Anderson in Austin, TX.

This isn't a huge convention, it's held in the fairly small store but does seem to draw a crowd of vintage and classic gamers. Good if you're in the area and happen to want to compete at one of the games they're going to do a competition on (Pong, Joust, Dr. Mario, NBA Jam, and Super Smash Bros.)

Also a good place to find vintage computer and consoles as well as games. I go there all the time to check for certain systems but they have a large supply of intellivision and atari games as well as other older systems. Occasionally you'll even find a harder to find computer or boxed console at a fair (usually ebayish) price.
