View Full Version : IBM PCs at auction

These aren't my sales and I have nothing to do with them, but they are both interesting enough for me to call attention to:

First is an original (64K) IBM PC with original boxes, docs and more. It has DOS 1.0, which alone is worth $1K on the eBay market. Here is the eBay auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2737962357&category=4193&rd=1)

The second is another boxed IBM PC but this is the later (and much more common) 256K motherboard version. The eBay Auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2738117347&category=4193&rd=1) started shortly after the first.

I'm especially surprised to see two boxed IBM PCs on eBay at the same time. I've only ever seen about 2 or 3 other boxed units before in several years of monitoring these sorts of things.

I'm very curious how the first one will go. I notified the seller that he probably had DOS 1.0 as part of the auction so it's been updated to reflect that. If it stays low enough, I might bid (at risk to my life since my wife does NOT want more clutter in a house we're trying to sell). :)
