well i got my new LCD for my TP 360CE. Pop it in and 20 mins later it's all reassembled. When i turn it on however, i do not see a memory test. thinking this is because it's still on external monitor mode, i hit FN-F7 to switch to the internal LCD. Intead of seeing the Windows 95 boot screen, i see one line on the screen. I've reseated the screen cable and still no success. I know it is not a screen for a different type of thinkpad, because the part numbers on the broken screen and the new one both match. Only thing i can think of that might be wrong is

A - Screen cable
B - the board on the LCD. EDIT: Took apart the bad LCD and found that the LCD board is perminantly attached.

Is the line bright? Could be a bad backlight?

I asumed that a long time ago.

Does the external video still work?

yes it still does work. i also might think that the inverter board may be bad; i ran this laptop for some time with out a screen attached to the inverter board.

I think, the panel is working, but my laptop is broken.

oh if only the TP 360 repair manual didn't get deleted ;(

Thats a shame, I have a 365c (486) and a pair of 365xd's (Pentium 1's) and they seem reliable enough. Unlike the 760 models I have had in parts and put back together the 365s mostly just needed work done on the LCD hinges.

I'll look at my Box-O-Holding for 360 parts,I might be able to help with something.Think Pads are normally too tough to die.

If the backlight works then the inverter is good.
