I see that there is loads of software that can be downloaded for the CPC in DSK and CPR format, is there a way of converting downloaded Amstad CPC software back to wav files ?

While I know very little about the Amstrad CPC, you should know DSK stands for disk and CPR means cartridge. Typical tape formats would be TAP, TZX, CDT and perhaps VOC. What I'm trying to say is that neither a floppy disk nor a cartridge makes sense to have an audio recording of since those load in other ways. You certainly could try to convert the programs on a disk or cartridge image to a tape image. I suppose it involves extracting the programs from the image and place them onto a fresh image. While you research methods to do this, you may as well look for the native tape formats that more easily may be converted to WAV and recorded onto an actual tape, perhaps MP3 player or CD.
