i've got ELKS installed on a hard drive in my XT clone. it's very cool, but it looks like the TCP stack in it only likes to work over SLIP on a tty. i can set up a SLIP link with my linux box and bridge, but is there any way to set up and use an ethernet card with it instead?
that would obviously be much better. i have a NE1000 clone in it.
if not, does MINIX 1 or 2 support ethernet? i think it does iirc, but forget if it has an httpd.

Minix 2 seems to support some Ethernet cards:

As for ELKS, as far as I can find it is still pretty much a DIY OS. There are links to a TCP/IP stack but it does not seem to integrate by itself into the operating system.

thanks for the link, i took a closer look at minix 2. i've got it installed and recompiled the kernel for TCP/IP support. working nicely! i was able to set up swap space thankfully.

Bringing up an old post here but what are the specs on your XT that you ran this on. cpu? ram?
