There's an online version of the classic four player game "M.U.L.E."!!!

www.planetmule.com

I originally played this game on NES. (http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/mule)

Still love the quirky box-cover! (http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/mule/cover-art/gameCoverId,80346/)

However the NES version was a late port, seven years after the original Atari, C64, NEC and PCjr versions. I'm not sure how that one even got commissioned, perhaps the NES was so commercially successful that Electronic Arts couldn't stop themselves from producing a NES port.

...and if you ever come across the PCjr version of it, you have a VERY rare item indeed. It exists. I've seen scans of it, but I have never been able to locate a copy.

My wife and I used to play M.U.L.E. when we were dating. Led to running gags of complaining about the Mektrons, radiation, and buggy MULEs.

You can probably see why I married her... :)

that was the first one I've seen come up for sale in over 5 years. hopefully this will make others locate their copies so they can cash in on the new MULE craze.

Well, $274 isn't that insanely much when a C64 or Atari version can run for $75-$100 or more, at least last time I looked. Over here in Sweden, some people may $500 or more for a common NES cartridge just because it was imported and sold by the official Nintendo distributor once upon a time. I would've expected the PCjr version to reach at least $500, perhaps $700 if it was a highly sought game nobody has seen for sale for five years.
