View Full Version : Connecting an 8" floppy to a modernish PC

Dave Dunfield http://www.parse.com/~ddunfield/museum/index.html has an article on doing just this. Go to the bottom of the page, click on disk/images, then on the bottom of that page you'll see a link to that article. Of course I just have to try it, but has anyone done this successfully? I have a "PC" with built in 8" drives - a NEC APC in fact (not a vanilla pc by any stretch though), and was intending to plug one of it's drives into a modern pc (486, early Pentium), but that thing can't run Teledisk or Dave's ImageDisk software. So it's got to be a real PC in order to archive some funky stuph.
Hey Terry, I know you're reading this ;). Do you have anything for (or have a) Seattle Gazelle?

Yeah, I've got plenty of hardware, if that's what ya need (nothing from SCP tho (Hell, I don't even have an APC)). Check the CP/M FAQ on Gaby's page for the wiring & other info: http://www.gaby.de/faq.htm. (Actually, that project is in the queue...).
