If I am running router or server on Compaq Deskpro EN (PIII 733 mHz, Motherboard Compaq 187498-001, Bios: Compaq Basic 09/13/02 686P2 v 3.14) how to boot up with unplugged keyboard? There is not option in Bios settings: "System boot stops for any errors except keyboard error". In POST screen it always shows: "304-Keyboard Error". Thanks

Sometimes, you can disable that error in BIOS settings. Otherwise, you need to either attach a keyboard or make a dummy dongle. I think there are places that sell specific dummy keyboard dongles, but last time I was looking for it they were rather expensive. You could probably cut off the connector from an old keyboard and connect two or more wires, dunno which offhand.

As I said there is nothing in BIOS like this and I couldnt find any newer BIOS update, so probably the best solution would be smash the keyboard and take out board with chip, because just linking wires in connector will not work.
Thanks anyway

I think I've got what you need- I had the same prob with mine.

And I spend 6 months looking for it:

download and run:
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp0501-1000/sp0667.zip

this will extract a file called NO_F1.com

run this (in dos) and it will patch your bios to not wait for the keyboard.

now hows that :D
