I'd never seen boxed 2600s before, as I wasn't around in the 80s (it and the C64 were my first two computers/consoles, however, besides my 5x86 PC). I find it quite amusing that the box boasts "true-to-life game sounds", and I'm not insulting the Atari, I love it's sound chip noises, but they're hardly true-to-life, lol.

I wish I had the money to participate in this auction, but alas I do not. If it's yours, then good luck.

Amazing that shipping to NYC is $61.

That shipping will getcha. A couple of years ago, I bought a large item (pressure tank) and the seller was less than 50 miles away. Rather than pay over $100 in shipping, I asked if I could simply drive down with my truck and pick it up. The seller refused--the "other side of local pick-up only".

I asked him about the insane shipping charge. He replied that the shipping calculator is wrong - he will only charge the exact shipping fee. And check out his reply, it's classic. (Yes, I was a little snarky in my question, he took it in good humor.)

$1276? Wow, somebody got ripped off. I could see around $500 maybe for two NIB systems, but the promo systems aren't in any way rare. They're on ebay all the time.

Do a search on P. T. Barnum and check out his most famous quote.
