Applicable Machines : Tandy TX, TL, TL/2

Machine Used : Tandy TL

Program used : MIPS v1.20.

Mode Fast (8MHz)

(IBM PC @ 4.77MHz 8088 = 1.00 for all tests)
General Instructions = 3.17
Integer Instructions = 6.03
Memory to Memory = 3.00
Register to Register = 7.29
Register to Memory = 3.11
Overall Performance = 3.87

Mode Slow (4.77MHz)

(IBM PC @ 4.77MHz 8088 = 1.00 for all tests)
General Instructions = 1.30
Integer Instructions = 2.85
Memory to Memory = 1.30
Register to Register = 3.47
Register to Memory = 1.34
Overall Performance = 1.71

In Fast Mode, MIPS reports .93 Overall Performance compared to an "IBM AT @ 8MHz". Norton Sysinfo 8.0 says CPU rating is 3.3 for Fast and 1.6 for Slow.

I'm quite surprised it does this well, as it's an XT-class machine (like the 5162 I believe).

The 5162 is technically a fully AT-class machine. (It has 16 bit slots and will run Protected Mode OSes like Windows 3.0+ Standard Mode and OS/2 1.x., unlike the Tandy T*-s.)

It sure would be interesting to see how a 1000SX would fare in that benchmark mix with a NEC V20-10 installed.

I used MIPS v1.20. I have a Tandy 1000SX, but no V-20 :(
