We need to set the record straight.

I have a CBM 8300P and I have read in many places that this is simply a re-packaged Diablo 630 Daisy Wheel Printer. The model number of the 8300P is 630.

Here is a pic of my printer:

Does anyone have a pic or know of a URL to a pic to verify that indeed the CBM 8300P is just a Diablo 630? I can't find a Diablo 630 that looks like the 8300P..A Diablo 630 user manual would be nice.

Is it possible that because the model number of the 8300P is "630," that they are both daisy wheel printers, and that they look kind of the same that people assume that they are the same printer? Is everyone just reprinting what other people have already said?

In short...I tend to believe that they are the same, but I want to see proof!

Ummmn, IIRC, the Diablo 630 is a full-blown TTY terminal with keyboard, etc. The print mech may be the same as the CBM though.

upon further research I found that the Diablo company at this time often manufactured OEM printers for other co's that were re-branded. The CBM 8300P is simply a low-end non TTY version of the 630 that was available '82-83. There just is no picture of the Diablo version (or some other OEM version) to prove it.
