Nah, hockey is kewl! Kinda like a b-ball game on ice, where all of the players are armed with big ol' sticks and razor-sharp blades on thier feet...

Reminds me of the old joke about the circus elephant handler whose punchline was "What ? And give up my career in show-biz."

Haha, Faeces :)

At least I can blame my immaturity on my age *wink*

mmmm....tin-foil...

Well "shit" is a much better and more elaborative term for feces.
And "maturity" is a much overexagerated virtue especially valued by "control" freaks. I like the view of William F Burroughs who said (in paraphrase) " I never want to "Grow Up" because once you stop growing, you start dying". (wink, wink)

The only downtime is in your twenties, when you think everyone that's gone before is an idiot.
And then you discover in your thirties (if you have some intelligence) that you know less and less about more and more that you thought you had figured out.

Gentlemen/Ladies,

This thread is coming very close to either being seriously edited or whacked.

While I use the s* word myself quite often, we don't want some indexing agent to get the wrong idea about this place.

Schiznitz! I blame my immaturity on my age too...what's your point?

What is so profane about a common bodily function. Most profanity dwells in the use of words deemed holy in the dominant religion. A recent event in the very Roman Catholic Quebec is called a reclamation of church terms, so the the very profane french-canadian swear-words like Colis(chalice), tabernac(tabernacle), Hostie (host), de'chris, are now examined as articles of faith. Unlike english few of these "profanities" in quebecois involve sexual or bodily functions except "merde" the object of the objection to my post. So I have just posted a whole litany of words which should be censured on the puritanical internet. Do you really want to take on a role as language arbitor.

I'm quite sure Dubya's christian angels of purity wouldn't be trolling the fields of vintage computers. And if they should, a quick apologies for violating christian standards could quickly erase the offending WORD and satisfy the New Order.

Wooooaahh!
LOL, someone got bent out of shape over crude language..
I don't use them often because they are considered derogatory, not for religious reasons.

But to basketball and perhaps icehockey maniacs, football might be a dirty word. Not to mention to baseball fanatics. Then there is the confusion which kind of football you refer to, the one you kick with your feet or the one you grab with your arms and make a run for it.

My only concern about four letter words is that some stupid indexing search agent will list VCF in the wrong group because of the content, and wow, there are a lot of wrong groups to be indexed under ...

I don't follow any kind of sport, I don't really have the time. I never really could get into it. I think we all knew the word I ment. "FiddleFaddle" :p

And imagine how disappointed people will be if they use those four letter words to search for the wrong groups, and end up here! :-P

He's right, there's no need to ruin our Index Rating becuase someone threw out a word thats going to get caught by a Language Censor Filter. This is after all suppose to be a family friendly forum......

Isn't Fiddle-Faddle a composition by Leroy Anderson? We considered playing a transcription of that last year, but figured out it might be too hard for the woodwind to play in a decent tempo (originally written for strings, which is generally easier to play quick passages on).

Anyway, here is one of many basketball games on the C64:

Fiddle Faddle is an American popcorn like thing with peanuts. It can be anyway, I just used that as a word.

What about the ever-popular 'f[censored]uck'? FIRETRUCK, of course...

Or did you think I meant ForUnnaturalCarnalKnowledge?

Ah, my mistake, I should have known it was much harsher than fiddlestick.
Yeah, sports just seem boring, you can't run DOS or cp/m on them, so why bother?

Hey, the Olympic Games in Swedish is abbreviated OS, so no need to run another OS on OS (so to speak).

Besides, I think I've seen some people in India or elsewhere play polo on elephants, rather than horse. Maybe only as a show-off, but I can visualize someone putting skates on elephants, and make a giant rink and let them play ice-hockey. Would anyone refrain from watching it?!

For NBA, i am rooting for the Phenox Suns, cus they got Setve Nash. I still cant believe they lost a game against the Clippers! For NHL, i am rooting for Edmonton Oilers, cus they are the only Alberta team left. (make that the only Canadian team) Usually, i would hope for the flames but they lost to Anahiem!

HAHAHa, the Oilers will get reveng on them (hopefully), they just have to win one more game against San Jose sharks.

woo hoo! Edmonton kicked San Jose out! Now for the Ducks to get kicked. I saw a sign that i thought was funny. It said, " Sarks drown in Oil!" HAHAHA

By they way the score was 2 for the Oilers, and 0 for the Sharks.
