Please! I need a reference diskette and manuals for a Tandy 5000 MC. This is a microchannel machine first sold by Tandy in 1989. If anyone has or knows where I can get these please reply. I would also like to get the matching monitor. It is a Tandy VGM300.

Jim.

There are 3 different 5000 models. Links to some info is at the bottom of that page.

http://www.gilanet.com/ohlandl/tandy/Tandy_5000mc.html has a lot of useful information too.

I don't know anyone with a copy of the reference diskette. Let me know if you ever want to part with the machine.

Hi Jim,

Just spotted this forum and saw that you are looking for a Tandy 5000 MC disc while back. Can't help with disc I'm afraid, as I recently found out that I was in exactly the same position, i.e, I need a 'Start up/ Reference / Boot disc' to get my 5000 MC to fire up. Can hear the hard drive spinning up but after storing the computer for over 10 years it now has a flat battery on the CMOS memory, etc, etc.
I would very much like to recover some files and thought it worth seeing if you ever found one and ask for your help if you did. Once I have recovered the files I will have no need for this computer and, if you are a collector, I would be very happy to send it to you together with it's original keyboard (free of charge) if you can assist.
It's the first time I've used this site but you can reply directly to my email on charlieshan(at)freeuk.com if you wish.
Kind regards,
Charles Shankland
