Hello Everyone,

Can anyone help me getting the 104521E firmware file for a Xebec S1410?
I can program the device myself. But I need the file for it.

Thanks in advance!

I have a tarball's worth of EPROM images for Xebec 1410 and 1410a bridge controllers:

Hello shirsch,

Thanks for the files. I presume the 104521E won't differ much from the 104521H :-)

I have also the 106059A for your package if you like.

Thanks, Roland. Do you know anything about the drive parameters in that firmware?

Hello Shirsch,

I have no idea. I thought these firmwares were universal?
In the documentation is a default setting. You can change
it by initializing the controller for your harddrive.

But you might be right that there are drive specific firmwares.
I really can't tell. It would be nice to know where these settings are made
so you could edit the file...

Are your files known to be for a specific drive?

Does anyone else know if some Xebec S1410 firmwares might be hard disc specific?

Yes, some are. Please see the README file. I should be possible to compare, e.g. the 10 and 20 Meg versions and reverse engineer the drive parameter table. I'm sure you'll also need to calculate and patch in a new checksum value at the end of the image.

Hello shirsch,

Where can I find this README file? It is not in the zipfile...

Grrr.. I must have screwed something up when I zipped the directory. Let's try this again.

So this is weird!

These two numbers have only an other letter, but the code is completely different...
X104788C.BIN
X104788G.BIN

These two files are almost identical but have really different numbers:
X100502F.BIN
X106059A.BIN

So I'm beginning to worry about my file... I'm restoring a Holborn 6100
which has original a Xebec S1410 using the 104521E firmware.
But it might be that the 104521H version is completely different...

So if someone can help me to get the specific 104521E file it would help a lot.
Original it's driving a RSM518, 15 MB, 215 cyls, 8 heads 17 spt
But I don't know if the firmware is hard disk specific.
