Hello first post in the forum :)

About a week ago, i found an old Hyundai super 16TE thrown away, and as a retro pc lover i took it to my place. I pluged it in and the psu started smelling awful... it passed away :(

Anyway i plugged a AT psu in it but still wouldn't boot.... I was kinda happy about this since the pc had a Seagate ST-125 (20mb 3.5) drive connected to a WD-1002A-27x controller card. My dream since i found my scheider was to add a HDD in it... so i did... however i do not have drivers or something similar to use it with...

Now i have to problems :
1) I don't know how to use it
2) HDD is with an external AT psu. I power it on just when the computer does. Is this ok?

so... any sollutions? :)

Is your 'scheider' a clone of a PC/XT or a clone of an AT ?

I think it is a PC/XT... but not quite sure... 8088 512k ram CGA one isa 8-bit slot.

The WD1002A27X is a RLL controller for a PC/XT.

Problem: The ST-125 is a MFM drive, not an RLL drive. Therefore, expect to see some read/write errors.

Your description of the Scheider suggests that it is a PC/XT clone.
Therefore I would expect the WD1002A27X to work in it (unless the Scheider has a built-in HDD controller).
When powering everything on, I suggest that you power the HDD on first.

It has an onboard controller... This means it won't work at all? :(

It might be possible to disable the built-in controller.
There could be a jumper or switch on the motherboard, or perhaps there is something in the setup.
