I have a system (Tandy 1000A although I'm not sure the genre matters in this case) which cannot boot from the SCSI HDD as it is currently blank.......funny about that!?

However, the system insists on trying, ignoring my floppy boot disk and presenting "insert system diskette and strike any key when ready" :tellme:

If I disconnect the SCSI drive, it boots from the floppy. :D

Is there a generic key combination to force a floppy boot (or Tandy specific)?

What SCSI controller are you using? Sometimes, you'll get a combo SCSI controller with its own FDC. That definitely will not work on a Tandy 1000.

Seagate ST02 with FDC disabled

Just for yucks, try pulling the BIOS chip on the ST02. Let's see who's doing what...

It was the, probably corrupted, formatting of my Magneto Optical disk.....

Now does anyone know how to put PCDOS system files on an MO, i.e. make it bootable?

So you were still trying to boot with a SCSI device attached to the ST02? That's kind of silly if suspect the controller itself.
