Is a Hercules CGA board Rare? Just wondering

I don't know about rare, but it was nothing special in the ocean of CGA-compatible adapters and the numbers were dwarfed by the sales of the MGA version.

Maybe not rare, but were darn expensive back in the day. Seem to remember some engineering and mathematical software required a Herc board.

What was unique about the Hercules CGA board is that it could be installed alongside a Hercules (mono or InColor) graphics card. If this was done with a normal CGA card, the HGC could only be used in "half-graphics" mode (32k memory window). With the Hercules CGA, putting the HGC in "full-graphics" mode would automatically page out the CGA, so the two cards didn't conflict.

Well that's neat. Wonder if I should sell it?

Up to you. I have one that I have no use for because the Hercules CGA card has no composite color output jack.
