Hello everyone, lately I've been carefully watching eBay to find a new PC to join my XT and form the start of my vintage collection. Last week, I was lucky enough to find this: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/331022146212?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 not a half bad price I think :)

I'm anxiously awaiting it's arrival and in the mean time have been trying to read about it. Problem is: there is very little available information on this machine... most google results are for very recent Samsung smartphones instead. Has anyone encountered one of these? I've got my fingers crossed it's a 286-based machine. If anyone has any information they can share on this, specs, quirks, etc. It would be appreciated. I will, of course, share anything I find out about it upon it's arrival if anyone is curious.

Also not finding much info. Small reference to it in a Inforworld magazine (http://books.google.com/books?id=u1AEAAAAMBAJ&pg=PT4&dq=SAMSUNG+S5200+laptop&hl=en&sa=X&ei=D71BUp_rMKig2QW2qIHwBQ&ved=0CEYQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=SAMSUNG%20S5200%20laptop&f=false) indicating that it would be a 286 at 8/12Mhz settings, max of 4MB RAM, a 32MB hard drive and a 1.44MB floppy.

Thanks everyone! it has come in... Haven't checked it with MSD but based on the above and my own poking around: It's a 286 with 1 MB RAM (I will eventually upgrade to 4), a 32 MB SCSI hard disk and 2 Expansion slots. Graphics card is on-board EGA with an orange plasma display built in. There's a set of configuration switches on the back. Wish I knew what that did... I guess I was spoiled with the XT being so well documented. Oh well, this thing was definitely $25 well spent.

Sounds really fun! Let us know as you find out more! I wonder if Samsung would have any info on it on their site (not common but sometimes).
