Did anyone else note the ROM BASIC version? 1.00. I think this video (and chapter 2) is probably one of the best/most definitive visual guide one can get to the original IBM PC 5150 (the so called A model).

ROM BASIC 1.00, here's a screen shot. That was an early 5150 for sure.

Finally got a chance to watch through all of these. It is interesting to note how much differently people use computers these days. The target audience of these videos were business professionals, and it was fully expected that they would do some sort of programming.

A modern training video would probably be all about sharing pictures of cats on twitter and facebook.

Personally, I think chapter 8 is the most interesting part. It shows many of the different commercial software packages that were used in the time period. VisiCorp forever! :)

Hmm... the video said that there was a study showing that green screens were easier on the eyes than white??? Ha ha ha ha. Nah, cheaper phosphor.
