I stumbled onto this a couple days ago. The seller didn't know what it was but after carefully examining the photos I realized it was an Ohio Scientific machine. I won the auction early this morning with little resistance and I think at very good price relative to what I've seen OS stuff go for. I'm wondering two things: is this a 1p or a 4p? I've been under the impression that the 1p did not have the ability to use a disc drive. However.. looking at photos.. the 4ps wood case sides are thicker than what i appear to have here. Also on the 4p, you dont see the wood casing underneath the front of it like you do the 1p and like the ebay one. The 1ps all seem to have the thinner wood sides like this one. I'm also wondering if the 1p has those specially programmed characters like the later ones did.. the Star Trek Enterprise, the car and tank etc. Apparently OS programmed a few of these in for game making, but I don't know if it was present with the 1p, which I understand is just a Superboard in a case.

Looks like the seller added an addendum to the auction yesterday eve.. someone else thought it was a 1p too. Sure seems like it.

Hello Falter,
it is hard to say.
Some guy build the case like the original by DIY.
See my C1P here (http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum/showthread.php?38994-My-new-Ohio-Scientific-C1P-MF&highlight=ohio+scientific).
If it is a C1P, it must consist of the 600 and the 610 board.
But you see it when it arrive.:D

Thanks! I don't know much about the DIY side of Ohio Scientific.. did they sell cases? If not.. I'm thinking this is an original because it has similar rivet looking things up top as it does on the factory built ones. Wish I could find a case badge for it. I'd never seen OS stuff until a few months ago. I wonder if they ever sold in Canada?
