I picked up a Votrax Type n Talk at an auction Tue.
But it came w/o the power adapter. So I'll have to build one.
And I'll need to know the switch settings for baud rate.
Anyone got the info I need? Thanks.

You may find the "reverse engineered schematic" at "http://kevtris.org/Projects/votraxtnt/index.html" useful?

The switches (with the baud rate configuration) is identified at the upper middle of the drawing, with the DB-25 connector pin-out at the upper right.

The power connector looks a bit weird! It appears to be a centre-tapped transformer (providing the AC for the internal +5V and -5.6V DC supplies) with a separate unregulated DC supply for the internal +12V DC supply.

Thanks. Later this week I'll pick up a transformer and go for it.

Does anyone have a schematic, or pinout, for the Votrax Personal Speech System power supply/connector?

was that the thing I sold to some girl on ebay years ago? I believe so. There was some discussion on the device. You may need to check Usenet postings.
