Hello guys,
The IBM PS/1 286 has been my first computer, now i want to run the romshell, the 4 quadrant screen in another dos computer, when is designed to run in the ps1 only.
Can anyone try to find a way to hack, to run the 4 quadrant screen in another computer?
If some data is required from the rom drive, just copying the content of the drive.
I really like this 4 quadrant screen but i'm sad because i dont have the ability to run it.http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/original/11/118490/1644201-boot_screen_1k.jpg

There is a utility to restore the screen on a PS/1 with an upgrade of DOS. I don't know if it will work with another PC.

That is what happens when I run the romshell program (the 4 quadrant screen) in another PC:

The program executes, the mouse moves and all the clickable areas work, but the graphics and fonts are totally messed. I think these resources are readed directly from ROM memory.

Interesting.
I suggest to create a D: ramdrive in your dos machine, and the copy the content of the D: rom drive of your ps/1, on the ramdrive.
Let me know if this works.
Creating a ramdisk in dos is easy, just follow this step-by-step guide
But remember the ramdisk must be D: and not R:
