View Full Version : PS/2 Model 30 286 with a surprise inside.

Well, seeing the Model 30 floppy thread going on jogged my memory a bit, and I dug a bit in my 'stack' of things and came up with a PS/2 Model 30 286.

There were some surprises inside: a Seagate ST01 controller with a Maxtor SCSI drive as a 'hardcard', an 8-bit 'Sound Machine' soundcard, and a Hypertec HyperAce SX (M30) installed in the 286 socket. The HyperAce-SX is a 386SX processor daughterboard, and it plugs in to the 286's PLCC socket. As you can see in the photo below the M30/286 has 16-bit ISA slots.
