While I am not an avid IBM fan, I couldn't pass this up. The PC originally belonged to a lady who was in the custom drapery design business, and used it exclusively for her records and accounts. It was then passed down to a local automotive engineer who used entirely it to augment his MASM hobby. If it wasn't for that fact that he had a set of identical twin boys, about age 11, and his wife's insistence that it had to go due to remodeling and space constraints, he probably would have kept it. The deal was for $75. Once I arrived for the pick-up, I was offered a Zeos 386, complete with a 14” color monitor, manuals, and disks. I really didn't want it, but as a favor I took it for $25 also.

The following are the particulars:IBM 5160

S/N N55707175160
System Board = 256K
HDC = IBM 6135985
Battery = 3/GP60K 3.6v 60 mHa
HD = Seagate ST-506 10 MB
FDC = IBM 618168Z
Async = IBM 1501485XM
Video = MGP GTK Monographics w/printer & light pen
Power Supply = 130w IBM 1501439
Multifunction & 384K RAM (Mgr unknown)

1829918300183011830218303

In addition, it came with all of the original manuals and disks along with 2 tubs of software.

With vacation time fast approaching and summer just around the corner, I don't know when I'm going to be able to find the time to play with it. I still have the Tandy 4P and FreDOS project to yet complete. So, up in the loft it goes.

Very nice system, I love the old IBM's. At one time we had more than a hundred 5150's or 5160's at the company.

You pretty much summed up how I felt, just too pretty not to grab it regardless of who made it. P.S. I thought I found the meaning of life in a Captain Morgan and Coke once.:inlove:
