View Full Version : Where to get PET software?

I've always been content to writing my own software for my PET. But, I tried playing a C64 game I've had since 1986 recently and found out it was originally a PET game.

So, I decided to see what software I could download for my PET. A quick DuckDuckGo (https://duckduckgo.com/) search turns up the only viable results being Tezza documenting how to install some games and where he got them. Those are apparently only currently available as emulated Datasette tape files.

I wonder, does anyone have, or know where to get PET software in "d64" format? I have a CBM 4040 drive connected to my PET, and a 1541 drive connected to this Amiga 2000 that I am posting this with. It sure would be nice to write a 1541 disk here and copy it to a 4040 disk on the PET.

I do have several Datasettes, both connected to my PET and my C=64. But, it seems like a lot of extra steps loading files into an emulator just to transfer them.

LOL - it won't last. But once your car exceeds 65536 miles it will be 17+ bits forever ;)

Contact the Toronto Pet Users Group (http://www.tpug.ca). They used to have a CD for sale that had their complete library of software containing thousands of programs for all Commodore products including hundreds of games and utilities for the PET. All the files were in d64 format.

Thanks! It will take me a long time to digest all that! I wonder if the files on those 'disks' were transferred from tape? A good number of the programs I tried at first had byte errors in them. Nothing hard to correct though.

TPUG? Wow! They're still around? I will have to check them out. Thanks!

You also have some stuff on Zimmers FTP, which may be duplicated in above links:
