Can I convert an AT keyboard into XT-mode keyboard?

I have XT pc 8088 without the original keyboard, when I turn it on, I get "keyboard bad" error, and I only have AT keyboards...

No, it can't be done without building a convertor as the signal patterns are quite different.

If you had an early Model M they do work. And some clone keyboards have a switch on the back XT/AT.

There is a lot of XT/AT switchable keyboards lying around, but you don't see them.

Sometimes you can't even see the switch :) I have one that has the XT/AT switch hidden under the nameplate on the front of the keyboard. If you didn't know it was there you'd never find it.

I have a couple of extra XT keyboards. Figure shipping would be from NJ if you're interested and can't find a local solution.

Hehehe, you see.

I don't understand people who can't find kboards for thier XTs.
