I'm just wondering:

1. If anyone who peruses the forum these days was an employee of the Entry Systems Division @ IBM?
2. What do you recommend for use as a tape deck with the 5150 to save/load programs from tape?

Thanks,
Daniel

P.S. In other news while I still think a replica extender-receiver card would be awesome, I found an extender card on eBay just a few days ago and snapped that sucker up.

Any tape deck should be fine - I've used a knackered old thing similar to this (https://www.audiolinks.com/tek9/tek9.asp?pg=products&specific=jpdoloemk) (which had probably 20dB SnR and rediculous wow-and-flutter) and it worked OK. There is an eBay seller providing decent cassette cables (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/IBM-5150-High-Quality-Cassette-Tape-Leads-Cable-/250898717045?pt=UK_VintageComputing_RL&hash=item3a6aba9975) for the 5150.

I wish I still had one, but as I recall the Tandy CCR-82 had excellent recording quality and a "monitor" switch so you could hear what it is recording. Note that if using a vintage cassette recorder, you will almost certainly need to replace the recorders aged drive belt.
