Papers, Please.

I can't tell if this is 8 bit or 16 bit, but the game is about you playing someone who has won something called a "job lottery" where you are given a job manning a check point where you spend the day looking at passports and deciding if someone should be allowed to enter the country or not. Meanwhile the people on the other side of the counter have been waiting out in the cold for hours to get this chance at your window.

This is the kinda stuff they must have pulled in Socialist nations all over the world outside our free nations.

OOPS! While this isn't an old game, I thought it highlighted sensibilities out in the real world we weren't aware of until the fall of the Berlin Walll.. I certainly didn't know of these possibilieis at the time.

Neither. It's 32-bit. It just adopts a faux-retro look.

16-bit sprites but yeah, totally a 32-bit game engine.
