Exactly what does this mean? I just happened to catch the TV commercial for the DVD of 'Scarface', featuring 'Totally Restored Audio'. Is it possible that a film that's under ten years old has degraded to the point that total restoration is necessary, or is this just yet another clever marketing gimmik?

They said the same about the Little Mermaid DVD Re-release. They probably just ran some Reel to Reel tapes & some film into a computer & threw some filters at it in GoldWave or something.
