Probably the biggest complaint of the Z-100 was the fan noise. The noise is so loud that when I would power up my Z-100 for some retro fun, I was unable to hear much of anything outside of the room. I finally decided to do something about it and set about figuring out how to replace the fan of the Z-100. This wasn't quite as easy as you might expect because the Z-100's system fan is located inside of the power supply unit. Since Zenith considered the power supply a non-serviceable part of the system, there was very little documentation available on the internals.

The project was a success and I documented my experience in the article below in case anyone else out there desires a quieter Z-100 (or a happier wife).
