One of my other hobbies is vintage audio.
I'd like to share my vintage audio system with everyone here.

I got my lazy butt in the shop and built a TV stand for the TT to sit in.
I hung the Large Advents on the back wall(see pic)
I put the L100s on stands and put the stacked L100s tweeter to tweeter.
The Bottom receiver(2265B) runs the top L100s. The Middle receiver(2270) runs the bottom L100s. The top receiver(2220B) runs the advents in the back of the room.

Here are the pictures.

Thanks for looking. Please leave comments..

That TEAC reel to reel is all kinds of awesome. I never really think about those, but they always seemed cool. Hows the sound quality on something like that?

My 2238B looks almost exactly like your 2265B. Man o' man, they sure made excellent stuff "back then". I need to spray some "pot cleaner" in the volume pots on the 38B, getting noisy. I am going to try out my 6350Q turntable again soon too. It got somewhat beat up during some of my moves but still looks in super shape.

About 2 years ago, I had to totally rebuild my Bose 901s. The rubber they used for the speaker cones turned into powder. I found a place on the internet that sold the rings to rebuild the cones so that's what I did. Back to sounding better than great. I need a bigger room for the Bose. They are kinda "boomy" when too close to the wall, which is the case now. (Single wide mobile home).

One day when SUPER bored, take your reel to reel. Record a bunch of pots and pans hitting the floor at the highest speed. Then, play back at the slowest one. Hours of fun! Get some great effects.

Indeed, reel to reels are great.

I find the quality comparable to 16-bit CDs(not 24bit)
Excellent quality.
The order of quality is.

1. Vinyl Records.
2. Compact discs.
3. Reel to Reel Tapes.
4. Cassette Tapes.
5. MP3s
6. 8-Track Tapes

From the types of media I have.
Note- I have spend over $500 on the turntable and cart/stylus, so it is kinda expected to be better.

I thinks we needs a pic or two of the Marantz and Bose 901s.
I had a set of 901s a while back, they have GREAT midrange, but I wish they had added a woofer to the side.
Someone offered me twice what they are worth, so i had to let them go, otherwise I would have kept them.
I have now fell in love with JBL stuff and Advents.
I have had AR, KLH, bose , pioneer, etc.

Wow, reel to reel! The first time I saw one of those was when I watched Pulp Fiction. They look really cool. I learnt something today, I didn't know that Vinyl beats CDs! Although I bet the quality of both the record and the equipment used to play it have to be good quality to get CD results.

This is a bit off-topic, but bbcmicro you must let us all in about your new
statement "Pi is exactly 3!". Is that an exclamation mark or the factorial of 3?
Man...we have all been wrong all these years ???!!!

Beautifull System !!
Brought one of the reel to reels back from S.E. Asia after my second tour ,and it was the first thing I pawned, to buy a car. paid over $300 for it and got $250 for it here.. Paid for my 1964 Rambler Classic though..

As far as pics go, the poor things are jammed into a corner and almost buried these days. I should have pulled your trick and sold the 901s long ago. Really too big for my current home.

901s have not changed any over last 40 years as far as their looks. If you spot them in a catalog, look just like mine, the walnut colored ones. These days, they sell these tiny little cubes and a subwoofer that you hide. I forget their name for that outfit.

Ziloo,
I hadn't though of that before! mind you, 3! would be 6, which is way off, even by my blasphemous calculations.
Yes. yes you have been wrong all these years, your civilisation is built on a tissue of lies! Lies I say!

8 track, another medium I have never used but have seen on 80's movies. Ah, television, you never fail me.
