Hi!

I have two disc-cartridges that resemble the IBM 5444 cartridge, from looking at pictures on the web. They have a single internal 14 inch disc. They are manufactured by NCR and the logo on it gives the period to be between 1971 and 1996, but since I have had them since somewhere around 1993 they should be from before then ;)

They are a dumpsterfind from my youth and I found them now while digging out some other old computer stuff from storage.

I'm looking for general info on what systems they where for and of course - how much data can they hold. Anyone here that can help out with this and shed some light as to what they are? :)

They look like Diablo model 33 cartridges. Very common in the mid-late 70s. Lots of manufacturers used them. Bitsavers should have a ton of information.

Bitsavers should have a ton of information.I used to own a couple Diablo 3x's that were front loaders, the pack in the picture looked to have a top handle. An old Nova2 system I visited had a CDC OEM drive that was a top loader with similar looking packs, with a built-in 2nd fixed platter embedded in the drive for a whopping 10mb

These look like the cartridge drives used in DEC RL01/RL02 drives...
