So I have a Thinkpad 510CS I just took a blowtorch to and repaired the broken hinge but now I gotta reinstall an OS on the machine as someone went and trashed the Windows 95 install. If memory serves this is a DOS/Windows 3.11 era machine which normally isn't hard to setup but this is a laptop. A very crippled laptop.
The 510 has a parallel port, a docking port and a PCMCIA slot. No floppy, serial and of course no CD drive. I can start the install of PC-DOS 7 and WfW from another machine and hopefully find the drivers to get APM/Hibernation and video to work right and then transplant the drive back over but I need to get card services behaving properly under both DOS and Windows, otherwise I can't use a PCMCIA to CF adapter and the mass storage driver to easily move files back and fourth, let alone use other PCMCIA devices.

Actually, is there still a resource where I could still find the IBM utilities and drivers that originally shipped for the machine? I seem to recall Lenovo pulled down all the old file archives years ago.

http://www.thinkpads.com/support/Thinkpad-Drivers/index.html <== has most of the drivers but not for that machine specifically.

http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Category:510Cs <== tells you the video chip

My 701c archives show that it uses the same files for PCMCIA as the 510cs, so look up pctpx130.exe for PCMCIA drivers.
