View Full Version : Why do I gave a UD5 ROM?

My PET2001N 32K, BASIC 2, has only two empty ROM slots, and I thought it should be three. Looking at this table:

ROM sockets:
UD3 9000-9FFF
UD4 A000-AFFF
UD5 B000-BFFF
UD6 C000-CFFF BASIC
UD7 D000-DFFF BASIC
UD8 E000-E7FF SYSTEM
UD9 F000-FFFF KERNEL
UF10 2K character

I pulled UD5 out and read it in my EPROM burner, and it appears to be a copy of what you'd find at F000 (starts with the "TOO MANY FILES" ascii text). FWIW, the machine ran fine without that chip installed.

Can anyone clear up this little mystery? The machine is new to me and I don't know it's history.

Thanks!
Dave

Can you post the extracted contents as a .bin file so can take a look ?
