I've got an Ampro Little Board 186 booting up with PC-DOS 3.3. I would like to get a SCSI drive working with it but apparently I need the Ampro utility disk to get it working. Haven't had much luck in finding it.
Any suggestions?

Thanks
I tried those but they are all CP/M utilities like the other Little Boards.
Maybe I'll try some of the generic MS DOS drivers.

Would the common utilities from the LB486 work? (http://web.archive.org/web/20020404235022/http://www.ampro.com/assets/images/SW30095C.zip)

The LB486 wouldn't work either.
I'm thinking it may be a call to the BIOS similar to the IBM XT call to the controller like:
DEBUG g=C800:5

I put up a LB186 disk from Don Maslin under bits/Ampro on bitsavers
not sure if it is bootable or not.

HEX format on the current Little Board/186 Utilities diskette, or in EPROM
form. Contact AMPRO for software update details.

Plus, all the Wordstar type files have been stripped into the standard ASCII format *.asc.
Now, they can be easily read with today's editors, vs Wordstar.

I've got an Ampro Little Board 186 booting up with PC-DOS 3.3. I would like to get a SCSI drive working with it but apparently I need the Ampro utility disk to get it working. Haven't had much luck in finding it.
Any suggestions?

If you get the utilities working, would you mind making a bootable floppy image that I could add to the archive?

No problem.
I've got it working but haven't been able to format a SCSI hard disk yet. I had to burn some updated BIOS roms also.
Thanks to every one.

I am needing of either a SCSI controller or a SCSI drive with an embedded controller like a Seagate ST225N.
the Ampro SCSI manual says:
Adaptec ACB-4000 and ACB-4080
Shugart 1610-4
Xebec OWL SASI drive
Seagate225N SCSI drive

I guess I've been spoiled by apple stuff but none of my apple drives will work.

So I'm looking for any of the above.

Scrounging through my parts "pile" I found a Seagate st157N and .....it worked... sorta ... It won't take the correct specs for the drive. It does format and work with the correct amount of storage. I'll have to play some more.

Things I learned:
The scsi controller on the motherboard needs to be set to device 0 as does the hard disk drive.
hard.sys only needs to be in the config.sys file for partitions above the "0" partition.
the bios roms need to be upgraded for the scsi to work.

Sadly gwbasic.exe won't work on the system.

More to follow after I play around a little.

that seems really weird
the scsi utilities manual says the board should be 7 and the drive 0

I can't explain it. It's all a little different, but somewhere it does say 0 and 0. It would not work with 7 on the board.
