Guys,

I have a generic Sanyo CGA card where someone removed the character ROM. I plugged in the CGA/MDA ROM from the IBM CGA card but as it includes the CGA and MDA characters I get a font on the CGA screen but it's from MDA, means it doesn't match the CGA character height.

Does anyone have or know where to find a CGA only character ROM?

Thanks,
Achim

I'm guessing you'd have to find a datasheet for the character generator chip and hope that it explains the required memory layout for the ROM, then get any old CGA font and write it to the ROM in the correct layout.

So-called "rompack" for various emulators (i.e. PCem, MAME e.t.c.) contain IBM PC CGA and MDA character ROM. Since it's copyrighted I can't provide URL.

I have similar card, it has CGA + MDA fonts in one 2764 ROM just contactenated at 4kb boundary.
