I'm trying to open up a Qume LetterProPlus daisy wheel printer, but in order to do so it seems I have to take away the roller, or at least the handles holding them. The screws that hold the roller in place is positioned so that the handles nonetheless must be removed first, but I have no idea how. Tips are very much appreciated!

Here are pictures of the roller handles:

The platen usually is held in by a spring mechanism on these things; no tools should be needed to remove it--but I could be wrong. One reason (other than for cleaning debris out of the platen basket, was the substitution of a tractor feed for continuous forms).

On some Qume printers, I recall that the platen knobs could simply be pulled off.

It's been too long since I've used one of these.
