Found this in a box of cards i had stashed, IBM COMMS MODULE CJ2216 REV B Issue 1
It has an Intel D8088-2 bottom left, TC4 written on sticker top left.
And gold top chip has:
MEDL DEV 1
X21TC/2
4G10005

Anyone know what system this would have been part of ?

Thanks
Malc

IBM 2217 Concentrator or the 2210/2216 "nways" combo that replaced it?

Plenty of information on all three in English on the web. Basically, the 2217 was a network concentrator that could take just about any data stream--X.25/SNA/3270/whatever, depending on the cards inserted into it. Looks like a small desktop PC. The 2210/2216 separated the functions into the 2210 router and the 2216 connection adaptor.
