Anyone ever replaced the front panel of their older computer with a different front panel?

I have a nice front panel for the 386 I am working on that I'd like to use but my actual case has a different cover.

They are very close in size, both being mid-AT panels. I would need to drill a couple holes in the metal case to get the panel to fit as well as get it to fit snug, but it looks doable. Wanted to know if anyone else has ever done this and anything to look out for / pitfalls / things I am not thinking of that could make it not worth doing

Both panels have all the needed motherboard connectors and both have a power switch ready for the prongs from an AT power supply.

I have done that. Check where the new mountings go. They might block drive bays in the other case.

I would take a picture of the two front panels together and look for any differences in positioning that are hard to see in isolation.
