Roughly how long should a surface scan of an st-225 and ibm diagnostics 2.02 take?

I don't know what kind of testing that does, but I would recommend using Speedstor instead, it is a much more robust program and will give you much more detailed information. http://www.minuszerodegrees.net/software/speedstor.htm

Ok, tried Speedstor. It showed the hard drive as E. I reset the dip switches and can now access the C drive.

When i formatted and scanned my ST-225 the other day (8mhz turbo XT clone) it took maybe 2-3 minutes? I wasn't using IBM software though.

OK, I used SpeedStor in the end . problem solved
