hello guys

I've recently bought a Compaq luggable 2 ....

but the motherboard LED flashes and it beeps ...

it seems i have no 12v -12v or 5v coming from the PSU.

Does anyone have the pinouts or schematics for the 30 pin connector to the mobo ?

thanks a lot.
mike

i suspect the 12v and 5v is low , rather than none... the 3v is present but I'm unsure if something is missing from the PSU area of this machine. The specs seem to show an APC?

The 12v & 5v seem to be suspect

not sure if my model requires this or not..?

a schematic would be handy

a little further testing of the motherboard shows that most of the edge connector is shorted to ground... a good reason for it not to work

12v -12v & 5v are all grounded.

Is that the 8-bit slot connector?

Did you check it with any cards installed in the slots?

Was the PSU connected to the motherboard when you checked it? If it was, try again with the PSU disconnected and see if the three voltage pins are still grounded.

im not sure what the APC is or if its fitted.

But yes with the PSU connected the rails are shorted to ground and with it disconnected they still are. i suspect the tant caps are shorting but there are a lot of them....
