A Maple Mini (https://www.hackster.io/rayburne/maple-mini-clone-update-74468b). Operates as a USB peripheral. Cost $4 and very accurate. (well, you did ask ;) )

What's the purpose of knowing a fairly useless number?

If it's operating properly (which is fairly readily obvious to a trained eye) the number is of no interest to me.

Since I don't have any need to test disk speed I don't use anything. :-)

Usually I don't care about exact KB/s, I just want to make sure the interleave is optimal, so I use NU Calibrate.
But it fails to work with certain configurations, and then I resort to Checkit 3.0

When I write floppies, I like to know that my drive is spot-on the standard values. If I'm recovering data, I also like to know if a floppy is dragging the drive speed down.

HD Tune (free) if you are using any kind of Windows machine.

I am curious to know if the values are in line with the XTIDE typical ones with a 128MB flash drive. The access time seems a bit slow to me.

My test was with a XT-IDE on a computer with a V30, and a XT-IDE universal BIOS that works on a V30, and a 2GB disk on module.

Interesting. I wonder why my access time is so slow. I tried reflashing it without the chuck mod and that only made it slower. I tried turning block mode and that only made it slower.
